The Manhattan II Project: Kleiner's EEStor Keiretsu?

Back in the late 1930s, when it became apparent that Nazi Germany was approaching the completion of a nuclear weapon, a US project involving over 130,000 people and the equivalent of $24Bil of today's dollars was carried out to develop nuclear weapons. Distributed at sites around the USA (and world), pockets of several thousand people would come to worksites knowing only enough to get their own

Lockheed Sticks to EEStory

When you ask an important question for which obtaining a true answer is critical, is it better to catch someone off guard with a question they didn't think you would ask as in a meeting face to face or is it better to submit questions in writing in advance giving the subject time to think, craft, massage....or even spin? Are reactive answers more informative than proactive ones? Or maybe your

EEStor: Most Widely Anticipated Invention Ever? Or was it iPhone?

Discussions of articles with forums taking place here now: TheEEStory.comIf you follow developments of Apple Computers and imac, iphone, ithis, ithat, etc., you may be part of a very large group of people who spend considerable time anticipating new product developments. And certainly for every class of consumer products you have early adopters who pride themselves on having the latest and

Zenn Motor's Ian Clifford: EEStor Technology is "The End of Petroleum As A Fuel"

Almost on it's anniversary, a resurfacing of an Ian Clifford interview from Sept 2007. Highlights include statements about cycleability testing over 1mil cycles and insulators.

New Tyler Hamilton Article on EEStor Inc.

Tyler Hamilton has released a new article on EEStor Inc including several insights from Dick Weir on Technology Review, published by MIT. I want to focus in on a key excerpt concerning EEStor's status with regard to production expansion and information flow:Weir says that momentum is building and that he'll start coming out with information about the company's progress on a "more rapid basis."

Zenn Follow Up to EEStor Press Release

Zenn Motors issued a press release today to say that yesterday's EEStor announcement "bodes well" for the next milestone of 3rd party permittivity. Zenn took the opportunity to elaborate on a few other items that are often asked/discussed here, eg, Zenn's stake in EEStor, the scope of Zenn's exclusive rights deal, and the ZENNergy drive system.

Zenn Motor Valuation of $100/share?

Back in June, an article covering Zenn Motor appeared on several news sites and cited a $6.50/share "speculative buy" price target set by Versant Partners' Massimo Fiore who was also quoted as saying of EEStor, "This is not small potatoes here. If this works, it really changes the transportation sector."  On Fri July 18, Fiore released a research update in which he presented a way of valuing

Andy Grove Piece

I mentioned earlier that Andy Grove, former CEO of Intel, is attempting to draw more attention to electric cars and electric vehicles.  In a piece published in The American, Grove says instead of striving for energy independence as we did in the 70s, we should be pursuing energy resilience by utilizing government mechanisms to encourage "conversion to electricity in a major way."  The biggest

More EEStor Information Coming

I hate to be a tease. But I've got alot of really good information coming in the next few days. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some of it out this weekend.

Energy Storage Article mentions EESTor

I guess I missed this one from a couple weeks ago.  CNET has an article on Energy Storage trends and mentions A123 and EEStor.  When I interviewed Ian Clifford awhile back, in our conversation, he mentioned grid stabilization but I had no idea what he was talking about. Check it out.

Ian Clifford on BNN

In this interview, Clifford mentioned that "our cars vehicles cost between 1 and 2 cents a mile to operate in the US." Now that's the type of math that makes sense to a neanderthal like me. My SUV that's getting 15mpg is costing me $4.24/gal or 28 cents per mile.  Putting it back into mpg, we're talking about 212-424mpg equivalent, correct???   This article from the Cedar Park, TX area seems

CNN Article from Sept 20, 2006

Interesting to look at what was said about EEStor and Zenn Motor back in 2006 on CNN.  For those trying to guestimate the cost of a conversion kit, here's a little help, "an EEStor-powered engine with a range roughly equivalent to that of a gasoline-powered car woudl cost about $5,200."

Ian Clifford on Montel

Catching up on some YouTube content. Here's Ian Clifford on Montel. They were giving away one of his cars in a contest.

Local News Station Story on Zenn

Found this on Youtube from January 07. Interesting line, "a full charge will only cost you about $1."

Revenue from conversion kits?

I spoke to a reader about his napkin estimate of potential revenue Zenn Motor could receive if things went well with EESTor.  The conversation included some tips regarding what next to ask Ian Clifford when the opportunity arises.  Thanks!

EEStor's Richard Weir on John McCain's $300Mil Prize

(Phone Ringing)RW: Dick Weir.Blogger: Hey Dick, this is John McCain calling. How you doing? RW: How you doing John?  What can I do for you?Blogger: I was wondering, should I make that check out to you or should I make it out to EEStor?....(laughter)RW: Better make it out to EEStor or they'll come and get me...Blogger: Maybe Ian Clifford should get it?(laughter)RW: Ahhh, no, he doesnt need it.

From Pacemaker to Powerplant: Part 1 Interview of Ian Clifford

What do you get when you combine gadget lust with an energy crisis?  For Ian Clifford, CEO of Zenn Motor Company, the answer is quite simple: an opportunity to save the planet.  Not save Toronto or Texas or any other part of the world but the whole shebang; everything and everybody.  You'll forgive Mr. Clifford if he occasionally uses that two word phrase--the planet---a bit too often.  It's just
